Academic Screeners: What are the score ranges for the Academic Screener?

Overview

The scaled score targets are the readiness levels for each grade level throughout the year.

• Academic Screeners are scored on a common vertical scale
• Multiple parallel forms of the Academic Screeners are used to allow comparability of scores over time and to allow accurate measurement of growth.
• Vertically scaling students’ scores allows the comparison of test scores across individual administrations of a test.
• Using a consistent scale supports documenting scores from year to year to measure long term student progress.

Testing Window Specific Target Scores

Scaled Scores are expected to increase over the course of the year. This means that the shaded portions of the bar graphs on the Student Academic Screener Summary report are different for each testing window.

The following tables list the color coded ranges for the fall, winter, and spring (beginning, middle, and end of the year) for each test.
