Rostering Staff and Students Manually
Organizing staff and student access to MyTouchMath is an important step in the setup process. Rostering can be accomplished either manually or with a third-party integration. This article describes the steps in the manual rostering process.
Lead Administrator
- Before your MyTouchMath experience begins, a TouchMath account is activated by the TouchMath team.
- An 'Activation Email' is sent to the lead administrator. This individual then:
- Clicks a link in the email to activate the account
- Sets a password that meets the basic requirements
- Agrees to Terms and Conditions
- Logs in at mytouchmath.com using the credentials they just created.
Staff Roster
- The lead administrator then rosters the staff. This can be done manually online or by uploading a spreadsheet or table that contains first and last names, email addresses, and titles.
Including a school name is optional. Schools are managed under the Schools tile on the Admin Dashboard.
- To Add New Staff Manually
- Click the Staff Tile on the Admin Dashboard
- Use the "Manage Staff" Dropdown menu and select "Add New Staff"
- Enter or upload new staff member details
- Enter the staff members' details online using the table shown on the screen
- Check the "Upload Staff Roster" box in the bottom left corner of the table.
- Download the Staff Roster template and complete it with the appropriate information
- Click "Upload Staff Roster" and follow the steps shown online
Teaching staff rostered manually receive an activation email. To begin using MyTouchMath, each user must:
- Click a link in the email to activate the account
- Set a password that meets the basic requirements
- Agree to Terms and Conditions
- Log in at mytouchmath.com using the credentials they just created.
Student Roster
- Administrators or teaching staff can manually roster students. The steps are illustrated here: Can I upload my entire class at once?
Students do not receive activation emails.
A student license is required for the student to:
- Gain access to the student platform, including digital practice and curriculum
- Be included in the "Assigned To" lists on the Curriculum and Digital Practice tiles
Manually rostered students are automatically assigned a student license (As long as a student license is available)
What happens when all student licenses have been assigned?
- Students can still be rostered and assigned to groups
- Can be assigned a student license when one is available. Administrators and teachers can reassign licenses.
Note: Student data is stored even if a student's license is reassigned to another student.
Groups
- Administrators and teaching staff can create student groups. Follow the steps illustrated here: How do I create student groups?
