Step-by-Step Guidance

Navigate to the Teacher Dashboard by logging into your MyTouchMath account..

  • Select the Intervention tile
  • Select "Create New Plan"

A new window will open. This is where you outline the lesson and decide how you plan to use it.

Look for New Lesson Plan:

  • Create and Start Digital Lesson option will launch the student platform in a new window, allowing you to work with the student immediately.
  • Assign Digital or Print Lesson option lets you create a lesson now that students will interact with at a later time.
  • Open Demonstration Mode option launches the tool in presentation mode, and no student data will be collected

Create and Start Digital Lesson

  • Select the individual student you'd like to assign the lesson plan to by finding that student in one of the groups:
  • In the example below, the plan will be assigned to Isla in Mrs. Tyler's group and is titled "Addition Practice". This plan uses Reinforcement Mode.
  • Click Next

Assign Digital or Print Lesson

  • Select the student or student(s) you'd like to assign the lesson plan to by finding them in one of the groups:
  • In the example below, the plan will be assigned to Isla, Benjamin, and Billy in Mrs. Tyler's group and is titled "Addition Practice". This plan uses Reinforcement Mode and will be completed online.
  • Click Next

Open Demonstration Mode

  • No selections need to be made
  • Click Next.

Build the Lesson Plan

Select the skills to be reinforced

  • In the example below two skills have been selected.
  • Click Next.

Customize the lesson plan

Determine the number of questions that will be asked for each skill

Customize the Focus (the range of numbers included or other parameters)

Customize the Visual Cues available to the student during this lesson

Tips on Selecting a Lesson Mode

  • Assessment Mode: Quickly identifies a student's starting point and skill gaps using a built-in algorithm.
    • Use this mode to pinpoint a specific gap or measure proficiency with a key skill
    • Examples: systematic counting, basic addition, subtraction, or multiplication facts
  • Learning Target ModeCreate a personalized pathway from a starting skill to a targeted goal, incorporating all necessary intermediate skills.
    • Use this mode when the student's entry point and expected skill target are available, such as from a Universal Screener and math plan goal (IEP, Individualized Mathematics plan goal)
    • Examples: A student begins with an accessible skill and gradually progresses to more complex skills such as number sense, place value, one-digit addition, two-digit addition, and subtraction.
  • Reinforcement Mode: Provides focused practice on specific skills to strengthen retention and ensure mastery.
    • Use this mode to measure specific skills over time, ensure a student continues to practice, and measure skill retention
    • Examples: Addition fact practice following formal instruction on this topic, document proficiency
