Student Facing Concept Videos

TouchMath now includes concept demonstration videos that provide an additional entry point to complex mathematical concepts. Available through the teacher dashboard, these videos:

  • Extend TouchMath’s explicit, multisensory instructional approach
  • Visually model key concepts, strategies and procedures
  •  Offer another way for students to engage with and understand mathematical thinking

TouchMath demonstration videos are designed to enhance—not replace—high-quality instruction. They provide flexible instructional support that can be incorporated into teacher-led lessons, assigned for independent student review, or shared among colleagues to promote consistent implementation.

The following best practices highlight effective ways to integrate demonstration videos into instruction to strengthen conceptual understanding, reinforce mathematical strategies, and support successful implementation of the TouchMath program.

Teacher Led Instruction

Use demonstration videos to strengthen explicit instruction and mathematical discourse.

  • Pause at key moments to ask questions and check for understanding.
  • Highlight academic vocabulary and mathematical language.
  • Connect the video to lesson objectives and facilitate discussion.
  • Reinforce key strategies before guided or independent practice.

Independent Student Support

Assign demonstration videos to extend learning beyond whole-group instruction.

  • Preview new concepts before instruction or review skills after the lesson.
  • Reinforce lesson strategies at the student's own pace.
  • Reduce cognitive load by providing visual models and worked examples.
  • Increase confidence and access to complex mathematical concepts.

Collaborative Planning

Use demonstration videos to promote instructional consistency across educators.

  • Support collaborative lesson planning and professional learning.
  • Build a shared understanding of instructional routines and strategies.
  • Promote consistent implementation across classrooms and intervention settings.
  • Share effective practices with new staff, interventionists, and paraprofessionals.
