What is a Probe in Skill Snapshot and how do I create one?
Step-by-Step Guidance
Click on the name of the Skill Snapshot where you want to create the probe
Click “Add Probe” in the top right corner
Add details about the short-term objective that the probe will measure
- Name the probe
- Choose the "Mastery" percent
- Choose the grade level on which you want the skills to be measured
- Describe the topic or objective. Be specific and descriptive. This is the information the AI will use to create the exemplar questions. You can request different languages, describe a student's specific learning disability, put in state standards, or even request the type of questions you'd like to see (word problems only, computation only). Wittly will use all of this to create personalized question types for your student.
- Click "Generate."
After clicking "Generate," Wittly by Classworks generative AI will generate sample questions for you to consider. These samples are based on the description you provided.
Decide if these samples meet your criteria. If so, check at least 3 of them and click "Save".
After clicking "Save," you will see this screen
Notice the Overall Skill Snapshot at the top of the screen.
Notice the specific Snapshot Probe shown below the graph. As the student completes the weekly probe, their performance is graphed automatically.
Clicking on the three dots next to the probe description allows you to edit the probe, delete it entirely, or stop it.
