What is a Skill Snapshot and how do I create one?
Skill Snapshots are teacher-developed, specific, long-term annual academic goals. Teachers can choose to use a formal academic goal, like an IEP or 504 plan, as the Skill Snapshot for a specific student.
Each snapshot is a place to graph progress to proficiency on multiple specific objectives. Student progress toward proficiency with each objective is documented as the student completes weekly probes.
You create a new snapshot by selecting Skill Snapshot from the Screen & Monitor tile on the teacher dashboard.
Step-by-Step Guidance
From the Teacher Dashboard, click the Screen & Monitor tile and select Skill Snapshot
Select a Group from the dropdown menu on the left
Click on a student's name
Select Add Snapshot
Give the Snapshot a name and add a written description. Remember, this is the name of the overall or long-term goal. This can correspond to a formal academic goal, such as an IEP goal. This typically lasts the entire school year.
Check the read-aloud accommodation when this level of support is appropriate and aligns with the student's individualized instructional plan.
Click Save.
After clicking “Save,” the new snapshot will be seen on the screen.
You have now created the repository where all data about the objectives you will be measuring throughout the year will be maintained.
The next step is to describe the first short-term objective that the student will receive weekly probes to measure proficiency.
